Birthed within the context of the Peri-urban communities of the Cape Flats and Mitchells Plain in the Western Cape, South Africa, Peter Cornelius founded this ministry with a view to contextually meet the needs of the communities defined by poverty and degradation. Proverbs 1:20-22 (NIV) says:
20Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,
she raises her voice in the public square;
21on top of the wall she cries out,
at the city gate she makes her speech:
22“How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?”
This provided the light-bulb impetus to use the streets as a platform to shout the Wisdom of God to a generation in a location characterized by immense social pressure.
